Reflection Music Group is proud to announce the signing of a fresh force to music that is much-needed: Danielle Apicella. The 19-year-old phenom is the label’s first woman and singer. While she’s only been known to the public for little more than a year, she is ready to ignite the game with her pure talent and heartfelt lyricism.
Two of Apicella’s songs, “Can’t Save a Soul” with nobigdyl and “Why Oh Why” with WHATUPRG circulated and caught the attention of RMG’s Doc Watson, who saw Apicella’s authenticity and heart for bringing people hope.
Danielle is really amazing," Watson says. "Her heart and character go along with her talent. I don’t see a ceiling with her, we are so excited to about her."
“Even though they haven’t had a singer or a female on the label yet, I know how much work they put into just having me there,” she shares about fitting into the independent hip-hop label. “That makes me feel really comfortable going into it. Honestly, I’m honored.
Although it seems like a fairly short time for Apicella to gain such traction with her talent, the New Yorker has actually been quietly making music for several years, using songwriting as personal expression and refining her singles until they were just right for release.
Apicella is looking forward to continuing to grow her artistry and giving the world music that offers them hope and refuge. The day before Watson called her to sign to RMG, one of her close friends committed suicide. This makes the next step in her musical journey bittersweet as she celebrates the opportunity of being signed to a label while weighing the responsibility of sharing the message of the gospel.
“Looking around at the world right now, I don’t want to make music that doesn’t have any eternal value,” she says, “that doesn’t mean something.”
Apicella’s first release on RMG will be the single “Silly Girl,” an R&B-infused track about heartbreak and learning to have wisdom with who you give your heart to.
“Come With Us” is the fifth and final installment to a 5 part video series entitled "Saturday". This song is an invitation to go against the status quo and what we think the road to success looks like. It’s letting listeners know, we can take the scenic route to the place that we really belong and bring joy and peace.
Reflection Music Group welcomes its first deejay to its already mighty roster, DJ Standout. The Denver-based artist has spent several years building his brand with stints in Miami and Los Angeles and is ready to take the next step in his artistry.
DJ Standout continues his popular #FirstFridays series now under RMG where he will serve as a curator and producer and continue to develop his voice as a rapper.
“The goal is really just to create a platform to shine a light on dope music and dope artists,” he shares.
DJ Standout first picked up turntablism while in college at the University of Virginia when he unexpectedly didn’t make the basketball team. He grew in notoriety as he spun at various parties, events and on the radio for a local station in Charlottesville. He is also a talented producer and will bring that skillset to his work with RMG.
As passionate as he is about music, DJ Standout also has a big heart for sports and has found the ability to combine both through Athletes In Action where he deejays at various summer camps for college athletes to grow in their faith.

Converting Streaming Success to Touring Success
Details for our very first SXSW Panel is here! We’re so excited to be able to have this discussion with the SXSW community. On this panel, we plan to discuss how to go from streaming success to touring success. In this age of the DSP, there's a lot of focus on growing your monthly listeners and getting on as many playlists as possible. But once you reached that milestone of your career, what do you do next? For the past 20 years, touring has been one of the most reliable revenue streams for artists. That's how you build longevity in this music game. But it can be tough for independent artists to understand what touring can do for their career without the backing of a major label. This panel will lay out the rulebook for artists to follow to turn their thousands of monthly listeners into customers.
We were made for more and need to be reminded that greatness lives within us. Deraj boldly encourages listeners to aim high and don’t settle for less than who God made you to be in his latest release “Genes”.
“You Got Me” is aimed towards the culture and the industry. The industry is always looking for who they can expose or exploit next in order to make another dollar for another day. Or in the industries case, thousands of dollars for another day off of your talents and work ethic. “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice then shame on me.” Watch Canon’s latest visual from Home today!
After 5 years, Canon’s latest full length album is here! Listen to Home featuring Derek Minor, nobigdyl., Aaron Cole, Byron Juane, Tony Tillman, Cass, Mogli the Iceburg, & more on your favorite digital platform!

"Push Thru" is about having faith even when it feels like it might not help. It's simple: push through. The visual for the track reminds us that pushing through the hard moments can also bring some joyous moments.
